Are ya ready? Are ya ready?
Are ya ready for Robin? Are ya ready let’s go!

I was across the Causeway in October 2005; attending the Halloween Party by Wild West Singapore together with Guyton Mundy and spied upon a couple of great dances that our Southern LD comrades were doing…that we won’t want to miss out on our very own dance floors.

After hanging up our toes for two months, there is no holding back our Line Dance Kakis to really work out.

So, when the clock stroked 2pm, Rockin’ Robin burst into action with his trademark funny antics with teaches on class favourites everywhere:

SHAKE YA BODY
Choreographed by Dee Musk to “Are You Ready” by Shakaya
Easy cool dance. Within the first four-wall teach, everyone’s hot body is ready to move and groove. There are easily identifiable tags, have a listen to the track, and you will be on track!

Hernando's Hideaway
Choreographed by Roy Verdonk & Christina Boogh to Hernando's Hideaway by The Johnston Brothers.
From the huge bob-cat grins and excited expressions of “OLÉ”, we know that this dance has met the approvals of all. The guys had a field day imagining themselves as Alejandro de la Vega/Zorro and the ladies as Elena – with epic sword fights ending the dance with a flourish! Check this one out.

Let's OLÉ!

Somethin’ About U Choreographed by Robin Sin (August 2005) to “All About You” by McFly
This dance was taught and learnt within five minutes, with Rockin’ Robin’s systematic fun way of teaching. With a catchy melody and lyrics like "So hold me close and say three words like you used to" – quite a number of hearts were melted – as evidenced from the workshop participants’ emails received the following day J
So, don’t miss this dance. You will get to exercise your vocals at the same time too.

Don’t Call Me! Choreographed by Teresa & Vera to "Don’t Call Me Baby" by Madison Avenue
Just when all were getting dreamy, Rockin’ Robin spiced things up by getting us to do this dance with attitude. Laughters kept ringing through the dance studio; as he guided us through imaginary horse rides, and those crosses and digs. A must-try.

Oh So Lonely Choreographed by Mark Furnell July 2005 to “Lonely” by Akon
Minutes to the end of the day, but everyone wanted more; and Rockin’ Robin obliged with this gem of a dance. Robin taught us in easy to chew bits and we simply flow with the dance. Only when I really look at the dance script today – realize that it is an ‘Intermediate/Advanced’ dance. Well, well, leave it to the dance maestro in Robin to show us the way and make everything as easy as ABC.

The last dance done by Robin -Oh So Lonely. Victory!

5 dances with techniques in 14,400 seconds. We surprised ourselves – no stress and loads of positive energies from all attendees. And this time, we have participants all the way from Kajang and Klang. A big thank you to all of you for joining us on that lovely Sunday; and all the lovely emails plus sms that you have sent to thank Robin.

He enjoyed himself too; that he even wrote in our guestbook to thank all of you for the brilliant time you all gave him.

Say Cheese.....

The next workshop cum party will be on Sunday, 8th January 2006. More details would be upcoming at our webbies:
